Dolan Construction Inc. was founded July 15, 1977, to service the construction needs of commerce and industry within the Berks County Area. We are a merit-shop, design/build, general contracting firm.

Joseph E. Dolan, president and founder, is active on a daily basis as chief executive officer. Patrick J. Dolan, Vice President, joined the company in 2001 to coordinate the operations of the company.

Joseph E. Dolan, Registered Engineer, graduated from Villanova University in 1961 with a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Civil Engineering. He is a licensed, practicing engineer in the state of Pennsylvania since 1964. Before forming Dolan Construction Inc., he was employed for ten years with Edward A. Reider, Inc., Wyomissing, as an Engineer and Executive Superintendent. Prior to that, he served as a Civil Engineer for Carpenter Technology Corporation. He is a past president of the Reading Chapter, Pennsylvania Society of Professional Engineers, and has served on the Board of Directors for ten years. He has served as President and Director of the Home Builders Association of Berks County and on the State and National Boards. Previously, he served as Chairman of the Board of Directors for Borneman Health Corporation in Reading and as a member of the Board of Trustees of St. Joseph Medical Center in Reading as well as the Greater Reading Chamber of Commerce. He is presently a member of the Board of Facilities Management Corporation.

Upon graduation from Carnegie Mellon University with a Bachelor of Architecture degree, Patrick J. Dolan, AIA, began work with Gensler, Architecture, Design & Planning Worldwide , in Washington DC . He later transferred with the same company to Denver , CO as a project architect with a focus on construction administration. Patrick presently coordinates the operations of the field and engineering requirements of the company. Currently he serves on the Board of Directors for Associated Builders and Contractors as well as Dayspring Homes Inc.

Dolan Construction Inc. has been involved in heavy industrial foundations and buildings, specialty construction, such as freezers, churches, healthcare facilities, sewer treatment plants and environmentally controlled areas. Dolan Construction Inc. is continually serving the commercial needs for warehousing and retail space. Dolan Construction Inc. is the regional builder for the American Buildings System, a state-of-the-art metal building component manufacturer. In house draftspersons as well as partnerships with local architecture and engineering firms are utilized to facilitate its project requirements. That combined with several hundred years of craft experience spread throughout its field personnel make a knowledgeable and efficient building team.

Historic preservation and restoration is a unique field which Dolan Construction Inc. is one of the few contractors in the area capable of demonstrating experience and craftsmanship. New offices and office renovations, banking facilities, renovations and/or restoration of fine residences and unique churches fall within the scope of the work performed by Dolan Construction Inc.
